Thanks for sharing.. question is: Besides having other churches involve in the “edge” type of services.. this is ultimately moving the “edge” service from BTCC to it’s own location- New church growing out from the ministry that began at BTCC?
Yes, but there is still a lot of discussion going on about that. Edge is being looked at as something we “planted” inside of BTCC –now maybe it can go on and be “transplanted” outside.
wow. exciting. i have to say that btc/the edge has really changed my life. as someone that was never raised to go to church and even questioned whether or not i was athiest two years ago, i now really rely on and look forward to every sunday (and wednesdays) for a weekly boost.
we sort of “shopped around” for a church when we moved back to evansville last may and i think what really drew me to the edge was the music, the relaxed environment, and the friendliness of everyone at btc. while we did go to a few really good other churches (such as aldersgate), i found the older rituals and singing of hymns really hard to relate to. also, i’m hooked on lazaroo and btc’s facebook/more modern approach to things. and i’m really pleased with the kids’ programs.
i’ve really grown to love the edge & btc and am excited to introduce new people to it. i’m so glad to have found it.
Will we still have an Edge service at BTCC? Some of go to both services and have kids in the kids ministry. I would hate to lose out on the “Edge experience”!!
I have been a pastor for the last 15 years. For reasons that I am only now beginning to figure out, God directed me to resign my position as Lead Pastor of Bay Country Church (I founded it 12 years ago)and then immediately move my family to Evansville. We didn’t know a single person here, but His reasons for leading us to Indiana are reasons I think He may be in the process of revealing. I have to admit that the “What is One Life?” video is making me a combination of nervous and excited. Reaching the lost with the gospel is the heartbeat of God and I know He must be smiling as He watches BTCC and the Edge pursue that mandate. Awesome stuff!

Doug that’s pretty amazing stuff. I love the combo of nervous and excited. Sounds like we’re on to something!
